Privacy Policy

Last updated: July 1, 2026

Prodshot ("we," "us," "our") makes a mobile app that turns product photos into styled marketing images using AI. This policy explains what data the app touches, why, and what happens to it. We've written it to match exactly what the app does — no more, no less.

No account required

Prodshot does not have a login, sign-up, or user account system. We don't collect your name, email, or any identity information to use the app. There is nothing to register for.

What the app accesses, and why

Prodshot does not use analytics SDKs, advertising trackers, or crash-reporting tools that collect personal data. There is no third-party tracking embedded in the app.

How your photos are processed (OpenAI)

When you generate or refine an image, the photo you selected is sent securely to OpenAI's image generation API to produce the styled result. This happens over an encrypted connection using Prodshot's own API credentials — you never need an OpenAI account.

Per OpenAI's API data usage policy, images and data submitted through the API are not used to train OpenAI's models and are retained by OpenAI only briefly for abuse-monitoring purposes before deletion (typically within 30 days), unless OpenAI is legally required to retain it longer.

We do not run our own servers that store, log, or retain copies of your photos. Prodshot's backend role is limited to relaying your request to OpenAI and returning the result to your device.

Where your generated images live

Every image you generate — the original you uploaded and the styled result — is stored locally on your device using Apple's SwiftData framework. This local library is what powers the app's history and gallery. It is not uploaded to, mirrored on, or backed up to any Prodshot-owned server. If you delete the app, this local history is deleted with it (unless your device's iCloud backup separately includes app data, which is controlled entirely by your iOS settings, not by us).

Subscriptions and payment

Prodshot's subscription (the "Pro" plan) is sold and billed through Apple's App Store and managed using RevenueCat, a subscription-infrastructure provider. RevenueCat checks and reports whether your subscription is currently active so the app can unlock Pro features.

We never see, receive, or store your payment details. Your card information, billing address, and transaction history are handled entirely by Apple. RevenueCat and Prodshot only receive anonymized entitlement/subscription status (e.g., "Pro: active"), not your payment method.

Data retention

Your rights and choices

Children's privacy

Prodshot is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children under 13. The app is intended for business owners, sellers, and creators producing product marketing imagery.

Changes to this policy

If we change what data Prodshot accesses or how it's used, we'll update this page and revise the "last updated" date above. Continued use of the app after changes means you accept the revised policy.
